Welcome To Our Studio!

Since 1981, Michele Evans has been teaching ballet, then ballroom dancing throughout Connecticut, eventually settling at the West Hartford Masonic Hall.  Because of her bubbly enthusiasm, and the way she made dancing easy to learn, her group classes grew to such a point that she had to open her own studio. So, in 2009, she leased her own space and created the Hartford Ballroom Dance Studio.

In 2015, we relocated Hartford Ballroom to 56 Arbor St.  We share the former Underwood Typewriting facility with many other artists and we love it!​

Our Mission

Our goal here at Hartford Ballroom is simple: to make ballroom dancing as fun and as easy to learn as possible.

We want dancing to be social and affordable.  It shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg to do, so our classes are pay-as-you-go!  That's right, there's no pre-registration, and no packages.  It's quality ballroom dancing without the expensive contracts, so come check us out!

• From Route 84, take the Sisson Ave exit  (exit 46).
• Turn left at the traffic light onto Sisson Ave
• Turn left at the traffic light onto Capitol Ave
• Arbor St is the third right (if you're passing the U-Haul company, you've gone a shade too far).  Our building is the red brick building on the left.
• The parking lot is located behind the building.  There is a particularly large space on the side of the building where the Jumping Frog Bookstore is located (you'll see a large yellow banner with a frog on it on that side of the building)

Building Entrances And Finding Our Studio

• There are three entrances:
  • The glass front door that goes directly into the lobby,
  • The handicap entrance by the Jumping Frog Bookstore which you can access via the parking lot
  • a glass door side entrance located in the alleyway off of the driveway
• If the doors are locked, enter the door code we have on our home page.
• Once you're inside, the most straight-forward way to the studio is via the elevator, located in the lobby towards the front of the building.  Take it up to the fourth floor, and you'll see our studio immediately on the right!
