The Classic Dances

This is the perfect class to start,
just for beginners.
We focus on the 6 most important dances because these are the dances
that will give you a solid foundation in partner dancing.
A nice slow pace to enjoy dancing while you
are learning and exercising in a friendly atmosphere.
6 dances over a period of three months, 2 dances per
month:
Rumba and Waltz, Tango and Cha Cha, Foxtrot and Swing.
Monday
7: 00 to 8:15 p.m. dance lessons covering 2 dances
8:15 to 9:00 p.m. practice
New
Trends with Old Dances: Argentine Tango, Salsa, Cuban Salsa, and West Coast Swing

Three old dances have been rediscovered and they are
quite popular, but they are usually danced on separate nights at different
locations. This is the only
chance to learn how to dance them conveniently grouped together.
Wednesday

When you feel ready to learn more variations. Advanced
Basics I allows 4 weeks in each
dance while Advanced Basics II continues for a total of 8 weeks in each
dance.

When ballroom dancing has become your hobby, you will
want to work more in depth, the way the professionals do; we call this technique.
There are several steps that are essential to know with correct
technique before continuing
to a more advanced level .
We cover those steps as fundementals.

Fundamentals
Basic Technique
4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
It is important to know
thoroughly the fundamental steps and footwork of a particular dance.
Proper technique will improve your balance, posture and dancing skills.
Intermediate I
Intermediate
Technique
5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
This is a class for students who
are proficient with the fundamentals.
We continue to work on
more advanced steps that will develop good technique like footwork, rise and
fall, CBM, these are essential for the serious dancer aspiring to progress
to a more advanced level.
Intermediate II
Advanced Technique and
Concepts
6:15 to 7:15 p.m.
This is a class for students with
at least one year experience in partner dancing.
We explore the important concepts (alignment, swing, leg action,
rhythm interpretation, etc.) necessary to progress to the advanced level.
For the first three classes
(Fundamentals, Intermediate I and Intermediate II)
the
pricing is as follow:
One class $10, two classes $15, all
three classes for $20
I recommend the Intermediate classes for at least two
years before moving on to the Sunday Advanced level.

A class for students with
extensive ballroom dance experience.
A class that is challenging and fun.
Open practice for all levels 8:30 to 10:00 p.m.
Tuesday Review of Sunday's Intermediate and
Advanced Classes
Our traditional Sunday night became so crowded that we
had to move to a new location.
Now on Tuesday we review the material covered on the previous Sunday to get
a chance to work in a smaller group, repeat a class or make-up for a missed
class.
